The rates of obese and overweight individuals in North Carolina exceed the national average, according to data from the State Demographic Center and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

40.8%
Percentage of adults in North Carolina who report eating less than one serving of fruit per day

37.7%
National average

21.9%
Percentage of adults in North Carolina who report eating less than one serving of vegetables per day

22.6%
National average
