To Kill a Mockingbird 50th Anniversary Celebration

When: Mon., July 26, 7:30 p.m. 2010

Harper Lee's beloved classic of memories, racism and weird neighbors who hide trinkets in trees turns 50 this year, and while the reclusive Lee is unlikely to participate in the observances (she avoids even replying to fan letters), you can discuss the story with two of our area's more celebrated writers, Randall Kenan and Tim Tyson, along with gospel singer Mary D. Williams. Clay Stalnaker will moderate the discussion, which starts after a performance by The Angelettes at 7 p.m. —Zack Smith
