Tim Kasher's theatricality manifests itself in sprawling narratives and concept albums primarily fixated on the emotional intricacies of relationships and commitment ambivalence among men. When away from his post-punk band Cursive, Kasher prefers sweeping arrangements suggesting a movie soundtrack, frequently employing strings and horns that evince downbeat chamber pop grandeur. The Good Life used to be the vehicle for his solo work, but last year he released A Game of Monogamy under his own name. He recently followed it with the Bigamy EP, featuring additional tracks from the Monogamy sessions. Both explore the quandaries of barroom Peter Pans approaching middle age, bitter and bereft.
