What the World Eats

Exploris--Inspired by the work of Peter Menzel and Faith D'Aluisio in Hungry Planet: What the World Eats, this traveling exhibit from the American Center for Food, Wine & the Arts illustrates the eating habits of 24 countries through empirical evidence. More than 100 photographs of 30 families show what a week's worth of food is, illustrating not only the amount of food cultures think they need for survival but also the influence of one culture on another's food. Who eats pizza? Who eats only indigenous foods? Who eats the least? Get some answers here,
at least until the exhibit's local run ends on June 4.

Local 506--Ye of little faith: These new old-timers tear ribs from rock's skeleton and put together a shambling frame of their own, with side-of-mouth yelps punctuating the unfinished sentences of a sax player, standup bass and epileptic guitar fits. The only anchors on this lusty barge are the jittering drums of death (see: James Black and the Whites for punk-soul reference). Yell for "Vampire Sushi," and make sure your drink is cold. Arrive at 10 p.m. for Athens hook-riddled pop from the Whigs, all for $7. --Chris Toenes
