Durham
A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE
COMMON GROUND THEATRE—"Stella!" The 1947 Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Tennessee Williams is the feverish story of Blanche DuBois, a complicated simulacrum of a Southern Belle, and her intense visit to the carnal, dark corner of New Orleans where her sister Stella and her brother-in-law Stanley reside. Starting tonight, The Little Green Pig Theatrical Concern presents their erotically charged version of this American classic. For more info, visit www.cgtheatre.com or www.littlegreenpig.com. —Megan Stein

Raleigh
SALLY SPRING & AMY SPEACE
THE POUR HOUSE—Winston-Salem's Sally Spring was making Americana music back when it was called the Byrds, while New York's Amy Speace is a member in great standing of the Americana generation. Her Songs for Bright Street ranges from a folk duet with Gary Louris and the country-rock winner "The Real Thing" to a honky-tonk take on Blondie's "Dreaming." The music starts at 7:30 p.m. and tickets cost $6. —Rick Cornell
