Taz Halloween
  • Taz Halloween

BLUE BAYOU—Red-haired siren Taz Halloween boasts the vocal panache of a femme fatale, her sultry and sweet voice disguising bad intentions. She traverses the stage possessed, pouring her heart out like a barmaid of distress, Robert Griffin's piano painting a smoky jazz-blues backdrop. Halloween sings with the raw feeling of a spooked animal, cornered and baring its teeth. The hard edge of her voice swings heartward as Cecil Johnson's sax peals and the bass of former Squirrel Nut Zipper Stu Cole pulses onward. 9 p.m. —Chris Parker
