REYNOLDS PRICE
QUAIL RIDGE BOOKS AND MUSIC—For Triangle dwellers, the opportunity to hear Southern icon Reynolds Price occurs once a year at Quail Ridge's annual holiday reading where the novelist, poet, dramatist and essayist reads selections from his extensive catalogue. This year's reading comes from the author's most recent works, Letters to a Godchild: Concerning Faith and The Good Priest's Son, two books focusing on faith—one in fact, the other in fiction. The reading begins at 7 p.m. —Kathy Justice

ANNUAL DUNE DOG HOLIDAY EXTRAVAGANZA
HIDEAWAY BBQ—Self-described "swamp rockers" the Dune Dogs wear smart-ass sass and gritty rock chords like last week's hangover, delivering a salty punch of hard-core country and stomp 'n' shake rock that'll obliterate any memories of Top 40 Christmas mixes and grandma's fruitcake. Put some yowl in your yuletide at 8:30 p.m. for $8. —Kathy Justice
