Dan Deacon

Cat's Cradle—Some chastise Baltimore electronics party wizard Dan Deacon as an electronic composer so lacking in ideas that he hides behind bombastic dance beats, zany props and ridiculous puns. And I suppose that's pretty much right: Deacon's humor-heavy, long-form, beat-driven pieces don't shatter any forms. Instead, they choose to celebrate lots of them, gathering house, rock, funk, disco, chants, Raymond Scott and a handful of highbrows into a mess carefully calculated for sweat. So, no, I can't promise this master of goof will blow your mind. But, boy, will he make it race. Pay $10 at 9:30 p.m. Nuclear Power Pants opens. See —Grayson Currin

Stacey Earle & Mark Stuart

Berkeley Cafe—You get last names built for rockin' country and folk with the pair of Stacey Earle (the sister of Steve) and Mark Stuart (OK, no kin to Marty). But this married duo's greatest asset is an undeniable starry-eyed chemistry. They finish each other's sentences and each other's songs. If you have even half as much fun in the crowd as they do on stage, you're still way ahead of the game. And they're planning to take a break from the duo tours, so catch 'em together while you can. The show starts at 8 p.m., and tickets are $12. See —Rick Cornell
