The good people at Rhino Records have released niftily packaged six-disc box sets celebrating soul music of the '60s (Beg, Scream & Shout!) and the '70s (Can You Dig It?). Should they release an '80s soul collectionthat is, a less polyester-leaning set than The Disco Box"And the Beat Goes on" should lead it off. Released in 1980, it remains the signature song of L.A.-based Vocal Group Hall of Famers the Whispers. And a fine closer would be Stephanie Mills' "Home," her 1989 reprise of the tune she first owned as the late-teens star of The Wiz. Tickets are $37.50--$59.50, and show time is 8 p.m. —Rick Cornell
