Lomax’s daughter, Anna Lomax Wood, & Grammy-winning music writer Tom Piazza discuss The Southern Journey of Alan Lomax, which features largely unpublished images of Southern blues & folk musicians, church worshippers & workers from Lomax’s tour through backcountry Virginia, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Kentucky & Tennessee taken between Aug 1959 & May 1960. Introduction by UNC prof Bill Ferris, plus speeches & performances by Columbia Univ prof John Szwed, Alan Lomax Archive curator Nathan Salsburg & musician Rayna Gellert.
