No, the venue listed is not a misprint—nor should it be all that much of a surprise. Even with its longtime reputation for somewhat more conventional, family-friendly fare, RLT has been slipping an unlikely number of jokers into the deck in recent years, giving the region its first locally mounted productions of subversive musicals such as Urinetown and The Full Monty.
James Ilsley makes that jump to the left as Dr. Frank N. Furter, regional vets Brent Wilson and Sandi Sullivan support as Riff Raff and Magenta, and Brian Fisher becomes The Creature in Sutton Theatre. At press time, a handful of seats remain forthe opening weekend; performances continue Thursdays–Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 pm. Through Sept. 2, with a special midnight benefit performance including wine and a costume contest on Aug. 24. —Byron Woods
