Commemoration to note the 40th anniversary of the Wilmington Incident of 1971, which led to the arrest of a group of civil rights activists who spent nearly a decade in jail after being convicted of arson & conspiracy. The case became an international cause celebre & their convictions were overturned in 1980. Keynote address by The Wilmington Ten leader, Dr Benjamin F Chavis Jr, plus comments by Wilmington Ten members Willie Earl Vereen & Connie Tindall, & remarks by UNC Profressor Kenneth Janken & author Larry Reni Thomas.
