Looking back
Here's what The Indy was writing about the week of Nov. 12:
5 years ago: Barry Yeoman investigated the toxic pollution emitted by the 45-year-old Carolina Solite factory, the state's largest burner of hazardous materials. Even more shocking was the state's neglect in handling the harmful situation.
10 years ago: Barry Jacobs revealed the exorbitant amount of money that changes hands in the world of ACC basketball. The previous spring, both UNC and Duke made multi-million dollar deals with Nike.
20 years ago: Steve Schewel reported on the gains made by women and people of color in city elections across the state. Durham, Greensboro, and Chapel Hill added both female and black members to their city councils.

Being the community
In Raleigh's Moore Square and around Main Street in Durham, we ignore people who we assume don't have housing. Rocky and those like him go to Love Wins or the Maurin House to find eye contact, to hear a "good morning," to be a part of their cities.
