Price: $10

Forget The Hunger Games. The greatest of all YA science fiction dystopias is the chilling, colorless world depicted in Lois Lowry's Newbery winner The Giver, a world that seems pretty decent until you realize the sheer amount of repressed feelings, senses and memories required to keep it together. A favorite for nearly two decades, it's spawned a series of sequels and is currently being made into a film with Jeff Bridges as the titular keeper of memories. While you wait for the movie, you can enjoy this stage adaptation of the novel at DSA's Black Box Theatre. Performances are Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 3 p.m. —Zack Smith
