It takes a village, we're told, to raise a child. But by the end of Stefanie Zadravec's winsome work the title character, an uncanny infant whose glow illuminates a Pittsburgh apartment, helps raise a sextet of tangentially connected adults. That would include Natalia, a frank Romanian immigrant and Ambimbola, a Nigerian cab driver; Helen and Reed, a married couple on the rocks; sex worker Rozie and dear, dead Dan, a nice guy who still keeps showing up in her life. Folk remedies, folk myth and metaphor make for a haunting tale of the human heart.
