The Savoyards, a community theater troupe dedicated to performing the eccentric comic operas of Victorian-era theatrical duo Gilbert and Sullivan, is now half a century old. To celebrate, the group will perform "Places Please: A Savoyard Symphony," a concert-style performance, and "Pineapple Poll," a comic ballet based on Gilbert and Sullivan's "The Bumboat Woman's Story." There will also be a celebratory high tea served on Sunday at the Durham Convention Center. —Mary Alta Feddeman
