The 605 Collective

When: June 15-17, 8 p.m. 2013
Price: $32

If the perennial visits of Pilobolus and Paul Taylor to the American Dance Festival are like seeing old friends again after a year apart, then the debut visits of companies such as Canada's 605 Collective are like when the interesting-looking stranger sitting next to you on the airplane suddenly engages you in deep conversation. Drawing on hip-hop, club and modern dance movements, with a jolt of cinematic fast-forward effect thrown in for good measure, the collective will perform its 2009 work Audible. In a spare, dimmed stage space, the dancers struggle through psychic interference to connect with one another, overtop an electronic soundscape. —Chris Vitiello
