It's easy to get sucked into Triangle Wiki, a free, open, editable community website full of useful information about our area.

This caught our eye: the list of electric car charging stations. Drive a Leaf, Volt, Prius, Insight or C-Max Energi? The website details all of the public stations, including exact addresses. Electricity is free; parking rates may apply.

According to the Electric Drive Transportation Association, in 2012, U.S. sales for all electric vehicles, including plug-ins, totaled 487,480, an increase of 71 percent over the previous year.

This article has been corrected to indicate the sales are for all electric vehicles, not just plug-ins.
