Thanks for endorsements

I just wanted to offer a sincere thank you to the editor and staff of the Independent for the efforts you consistently make to research political races and give clear endorsements of the best, smartest and most progressive candidates (Indy endorsements, cover story, April 23).

As someone who takes politics very seriously, I can say with certainty that it would be quite difficult for me to conduct all the candidate research, analyze it and compile into a convenient guide as you do. Please know that you provide us with a great service that's not matched anywhere else—and the work you do is greatly valued. Actually, as you're alone (as far as I am aware) in providing this service for progressive voters—you're really making yourself a quite powerful and influential publication by providing this unique service to residents of the area.

Again, a big thank you and best regards.
