Telekinesis, Deep Sea Diver

When: Sun., May 5, 9 p.m. 2013
Price: $10-12

Never let it be said that Michael Lerner rests on his laurels. After making his debut album, primarily by himself, only four years ago, the man behind Telekinesis already has produced an EP and another two full-lengths, including this year's Dormarion. Just like the albums that preceded it, Dormarion is full of the sort of catchy and endearing indie rock that'll make you wonder why more groups of this ilk aren't nearly as good, and why this kind of music—with its big, open-hearted hooks—doesn't overrun the radio. Like-minded Seattleites Deep Sea Diver open. —David Raposa
