Part of The ArtsCenter's Celtic Concert Series, this evening with the Tannahill Weavers showcases one of the finest and longest-lasting practitioners of traditional Scottish music. For nearly 45 years, the lively group of Scots—currently a quartet that includes two of its founders—has added a modern twist to its arrangements of an ancient repertoire that includes jigs, reels, ballads and folk songs. The versatile musicians' fiery live performances give tradition a kick in the pants with a slew of instruments and rich, multi-part harmonies. —Spencer Griffith
