To everyone in Wayne county: What can we do to uplift ourselves from poverty, anger and fear?
We must abandon the mindset of us and them. As members of the human race we recognize that in some ways we are different, yet in many ways we are the same. We all want respect, love, and acceptance, equality and peace. We all want to feel safe and secure.
To make our communities, towns and cities better places we must first make ourselves better people. Let us not be found guilty of prejudice, or hate. Within each of us we hold the power to create or destroy; let us build each other up, not tear each other down.
No matter our legal status, our color, our religion/ non religion, or our sexual orientation, we are all flesh and blood, we are all related.
Sometimes, it only when we step down from our podiums that we see that none of us our above another. Let us look into each others eyes and see a reflection of ourselves, let us feel each others pain and promise each other . . . that we will no longer be the cause of each others suffering.
