Supersuckers are a little like AC/DC in that they're a full-on party-rock band with loud guitars and screaming rhythms. The guitars are punkier but the spirit's the same, certainly lyrically; "How To Maximize Your Body Count" and "Supersuckers Drive-By Blues" stand up nicely to "Dirty Deeds" and "For Those About To Rock." The complicating factor in the comparison is the Suckers' love of ragged stoner country-rock, echoing Willie Nelson and Jerry Jeff Walker. The raucous side predominates live, with the country interludes offering a moment to nurse your beer before it goes back in the air. —Chris Parker
