Raleigh
BLUES BBQ
BERKELEY CAFÉ—Annually one of the best events in the Triangle, Berkeley's BBQ serves two additional purposes in 2007: It's a celebration of Berkeley's 27th anniversary and an epilogue for Spark Con. Expect pulled and chopped pork, fried catfish and cold beer, plus music from Will McFarlane, Adrian Duke and five other bands. There's a potluck, too, so bring a treat. Doors open at 5 p.m., and cover is $10. Get there early for the food; stay late for the tunes. —Grayson Currin

Chapel Hill
ANDREW BOMBACK
MARKET STREET BOOKS—Local writer Andrew Bomback will be at Market Street Books tonight to discuss and sign copies of his debut novel You're Too Wonderful to Die. Taking its title from Neutral Milk Hotel's "Song Against Sex," the work addresses issues of faith and redemption as one man confronts the loss of his stillborn child. The event begins at 2 p.m. Call 933-5111 or visit www.marketstreetbooks.com for more information. —Ashley Roberts

CHATTERLEY AND BACH
SOMERHILL GALLERY—An intriguing juxtaposition of primitive, figurative sculpture by Mark Chatterley and handcrafted, delicate jewelry by Carolyn Morris Bach is on display through Oct. 12. For gallery hours, go to www.somerhill.com. —Karlie Justus
