Orange County
Orange County Open Studio Tour
Various venues—The 13th annual Orange County Open Studio Tour spotlights the more than 700 artists living in the O.C. Two sites—the Arts Center in Carrboro and Hillsborough's Burwell School—will host exhibits through Nov. 12 that preview work by local artists, including Barbi Dalton (see above), Alan Dehmer and John Rosenthal. The tour runs today from 12 to 5 p.m. and resumes next Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 10-11. Go to for more info. —Karlie Justus

Jeffrey Dean Foster, Sara Bell & Kenny Roby
The Pour House—Guitar pull, song swap, singer-songwriters on (seated) parade: Whatever you want to call such gatherings, The Pour House has become their home in the Triangle. The latest installment finds Winston-Salem's Jeffrey Dean Foster reconvening with Raleigh's Sara Bell and Kenny Roby for an evening of roots-leaning sounds. They all have their version of soul music too, as a trip down the line with Foster's "Sweet William the Cop," Bell's "Glory Be" and Roby's "Foot Soldier" make crystal clear. Tickets are $8-$10 for a 7 p.m. start. —Rick Cornell
