WILMONT NEIGHBORHOOD--Set aside a few minutes during your busy weekend to take a twilight stroll around an old Raleigh neighborhood and admire the crafty creations of local artist Joel Haas, sculptor extraordinaire. Haas has placed his whimsical works--made from industrial goods and molded into the shapes of fantastical animals and characters--in the yards of obliging neighbors in the Wilmont subdivision near Meredith College. His artwork is for sale, but, as a patron of the arts, Haas really hopes to inspire his surrounding community to indulge in their own creative passions.
