If you are like any bored person at all, chances are you have written a movie in your head while on the bus, at work or anywhere you're supposed to be doing something else. But there's a reason so many movies are bad—turning an idea into an actual story is hard. There is hope, though! A trio of Triangle filmmakers is headed to Flyleaf Books for "an afternoon of insight and discussion" called "Story Into Film." Moderated by local filmmaker Tim McQuaid, the lineup includes 2009 Indies Arts Award winner Todd Tinkham, Carrboro Film Festival winner Mark Cornell and prolific filmmaker Rob Underhill. Each will show some excerpts from their work, share stories and offer advice to the aspiring. If, say, you've wasted a lot of time attempting to come up with a story line about, say, cyborg zombies, this might be the place to go. The event is free, runs from 1 to 3 p.m. and is sponsored in part by Triangle Filmmakers SIG and Turnip LLC. —Zack Smith
