North Carolina yields a reliable harvest of metalcore outfits; the Roxboro quintet Steryle fits eagerly among their number. Endless Winter, the young band's full-length debut, was produced by Between the Buried and Me engineer Jamie King and features a cameo from BTBAM guitarist Dustie Waring. Steryle's result, however, diverges from their elders' indulgent prog with a grab-bag of influences that balance death-spawned breakdowns with a healthy dose of pop-punk. Raleigh power-metal rippers Widow and the industrial-leaning Apex trio Aittala share the bill. —Bryan C. Reed
