William Schultz, director of Amnesty International USA, will critique President Bush's "war on terror". He'll raise questions about the price of war, arguing that disregard for human rights harms our nation. Duke University writing instructor Faulkner Fox has written a new creative non-fiction work that irreverently shines the light on the fear and isolation (and joy) of motherhood. An Evening of Blackberry Whispers is the theme of First Annual Mahogany Dime Awards, honoring five black women from North Carolina who have excelled in their industry and communities. Reflections of the Soul: Modern, Folk and Religious Images from Latin America includes fiber arts inspired by the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe, surreal paintings by Peruvian-born David Sovero, and works by Cornelio Ocampo that draw from Day of the Dead celebrations in his native city of Michoacan, Mexico.
