Get ready, girls! The First Annual UnBritney Contest deadline is one month away. The Appalachian Writer's Alliance in Kingsport, Tenn., is sponsoring a search for a fashionable, feminine and alluring teenager who can present a look that is as "unBritney" (Spears) as possible. 1 THURSDAY
Looking for a good excuse to spend a girls' night out? Tell your friends about SheSheMe's Spring Fling, a night of "pink champagne, chocolate, and loads of retail therapy." 2 FRIDAY
The NCSU Dance Company Spring Concert features work by guest artists Jack Arnold and Tamar Rogoff and by NCSU Dance Program Director Robin Harris. Works include Harris' Songs, Rogoff's The Birth Day, Arnold's Listen to Me, and a reconstruction of Harris' Dedication, inspired by James Agee's and Walker Evan's 1939 documentary Let Us Now Praise Famous Men. 3 SATURDAY
It's tea time this Sunday--experience an authentic 19th-century ritial during the Living History Tea, with demonstrations on etiquette, clothing and food, period games and crafts for children. 4 SUNDAY
Garden Art Gallery, an online gallery and artist cooperative, is hosting their ninth-annual juried show and sale this Saturday and Sunday. The Art In The Garden Sculpture Invitational will feature nine artists' work, ranging from large, abstract sculpture to finely crafted smaller works. 5 MONDAY

6 TUESDAY
Mary Baynard Clarke was an ambitious and adventurous North Carolina poet, shattering traditional images of the "Southern lady" through her fierce independence.
