On its opening day, the new Sorry State Records shop in downtown Raleigh overflowed with eager customers. As a label and online retailer, Sorry State built a reputation for releasing and stocking a varied and vibrant selection of contemporary punk. The dedicated niche audience has followed it into the bricks-and-mortar realm, and the shop celebrates a full month in business with this low-key party. Sorry State proprietor Daniel Lupton and his employees will swap shifts spinning records and, because business never stops, selling them, too.
