The abstract musical by Jason Robert Brown (Urban Cowboy, 13) has no plot. Instead, it deals with four players on stage who perform a variety of numbers dealing with different aspects of modern life, such as technology, unemployment and an unexpected pregnancy. The scenes and songs draw on gospel, jazz, pop and classical, among other influences. Raleigh Little Theatre will perform this offbeat gem in the Stephenson Amphitheatre. —Zack Smith
