So & So Reading Series

When: Fri., Nov. 9, 8 p.m. 2012
Price: Free

This poetry series started in Boston but is now passing the tipping point of having been in Raleigh longer. A quintet of readers fills the November bill as Hanna Andrews, Farrah Field, Christie Ann Reynolds, Janaka Stucky and Angela Veronica Wong all present their original work. Field co-owns Berl's Brooklyn Poetry Shop and authored Rising (Four Way Books) and the chapbook Parents (Immaculate Disciples Press). Stucky publishes Black Ocean books, and his collection The World Will Deny It For You is just out on Ahsahta Press. Andrews co-edits Switchback Books, works at the Academy of American Poets and was a finalist for the 2011 Sawtooth Prize with Slope Move. Reynolds used to host New York's Stain of Poetry reading series, won the 2008 New School Chapbook Competition with idiot heart and wrote Revenge Poems (Supermachine). Wong's How to Survive a Hotel Fire is just out on Coconut Books. Birds LLC editor Chris Tonelli organizes the series. The free reading starts at 8 p.m. —Chris Vitiello
