Singer-songwriter Shana Tucker says that what she missed most when she moved from the Carolina woods to the Nevada desert was the rain. Las Vegas lured the Durhamite a year ago when she joined the musical cast of Cirque du Soleil's Ka. There's only one small problem with that: Tucker still likes to get down from time to time with her musical brethren in the Triangle. So the songbird (and cellist) is heading to Cary to lead a quartet gig with some of the Triangle's hottest players of jazz and chamber soul: pianist Mark Wells (of Peter Lamb & the Wolves), drummer Nick Baglio (of The Hot at Nights) and bassist Darion Alexander. A gift from PineCone, this free, pre-dusk concert runs 6–8 p.m. In case of any sweet Carolina rain, the site shifts nearby to Kiwanis Shelter, also in Bond Park. —Sylvia Pfeiffenberger
