Your enjoyment of the two-day, 17-band Scumfest hinges entirely on your appreciation for shock rock's short bus, where anything goes except—frequently—decent songs. If you're thinking GG Allin, The Mentors, AxCx or GWAR, you're on the right track. Here's two days slammed with sloppy rock sleaze, ranging from the mostly benign (like Friday headliners KIFF) to the truly repugnant (like the wantonly mysogynist/ homophobic/ scatalogical/ rape-endorsing Schmegma). Often, it's hard to tell where the attempted shock humor ends and something scummy begins. But, I guess that's the point. Friday's event starts at 8 p.m. and costs $10; Saturday's bill begins at 1 p.m. and begs $15. —Bryan Reed
