Scott H Biram, Black Eyed Vermillion, Whiskey Dick

When: Tue., Feb. 5, 9 p.m. 2013
Price: $9-11

If it weren't for bad luck, Scott H. Biram wouldn't have anything to sing about. If Elvis Costello was a knock-kneed misanthrope, Biram's a rope-burned steer trying to crawl to safety. He's been crushed by an 18-wheeler and basted in critical indifference, but there's no surrender in Biram whatever the circumstance, imbuing his songs with indomitable cockeyed swagger. His albums range from noisy electric rockers to acoustic country-folk/ blues and grimy blues stomps, united by sheer will power and defiance. The $9–$11 show starts at 9 p.m. with openers Black Eyed Vermillion and Whiskey Dick. Visit local506.com. —Chris Parker
