BLUE BAYOU CLUB—This Chapel Hill quintet colors its raucous twang with a soulful strut. Frontman Scott Morgan's vocals have a roughened Southern lilt that complements Memphis' gritty roots. Their fourth album, Radio, tightens the screws on the sound the band's maintained for almost a decade, which will be documented tonight for a live DVD to be released next year. Get going at 9:30 p.m. —Chris Parker

CAT'S CRADLE—Last Saturday, Chapel Hill's pop-noirish septet, The Old Ceremony, shared a bill with Chuck Berry. This Saturday, they'll join Athens go-go rockers The Modern Skirts. With a new record in the works (set for release sometime early next year), it's the Ceremony's first hometown show since June. Supply $10 at 9:30 p.m. for pop charms. —Margaret Hair

MOORE SQUARE—In conjunction with ongoing efforts to revive the arts scene, the City of Raleigh Arts Commission is sponsoring a public arts project: Art-on-the-Move. Artwork from 12 artists with Raleigh ties has been selected to adorn the sides of Capital Area Transit buses. Tonight at 6 p.m. in Moore Square, a bus will be christened in order to celebrate the initiation of the project. Mayor Charles Meeker and other city officials will be in attendance. —Ashley Roberts
