OLYMPIC ASS-KICKIN' TEAM & THE T'S
THE POUR HOUSE—Terry Anderson, leader of the O.A.K. Team, knows the secret to good-time rock 'n' roll: Keep the frills to a minimum and be willing to be a little bit out there. You know, equal parts Chuck Berry and Chuck Barris. Openers The T's are from the same low gloss/ high octane mold. Tickets to the 9 p.m. show are $7. —Rick Cornell

BUGFEST
N.C. MUSEUM OF NATURAL SCIENCES—The nation's largest single-day bug event, Bugfest is a local treasure that now stretches beyond the museum to the Capitol grounds: From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., enjoy buggy snacks, entomological demonstrations, termite and roach races and a scavenger hunt. After 5 p.m., Bugfest molts into The Twilight Zone, with performances from Dexter Romweber & the New Romans and The Loners on the Jones Street stage. For more, see www.bugfest.org. —Grayson Currin

WHOLE FOODS TOWN HALL MEETING
WHOLE FOODS MARKET—Whole Foods Market, working in conjunction with Quail Ridge Books and Music, hosts a discussion concerning the advantages and difficulties of eating locally produced food. Camille Kingsolver, co-author of the book Animal, Vegetable, Miracle, will be one of the guest panelists for the meeting. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. For more info, call 828-1588 or visit www.quailridgebooks.com. —Ashley Roberts
