BREAKFAST MASCOT RECORDS
LOCAL 506—The Archibalds are Breakfast Mascot label mates with stage-sharers The Honored Guests and Tennis & the Mennonites, and they're visiting from Texas. You can hear it: The San Marcos quartet fills its late-period Band rollick with harmonies, horns and parlor pianos, true bastard children of country endearment. Max Indian joins for a free 9 p.m. show. The Breakfast bands also play at Raleigh's Downtown Event Center Thursday, Nov. 8, at 10 p.m. —Grayson Currin

MIKE EVIN
THE CAVE—On his 2005 debut, I'll Bring the Stereo, Mike Evin reimagined the piano-pop songbook in a way that made everybody from Eric Carmen and Donald Fagen to Ben Folds and Freddie Mercury inspiration suspects. Music starts at 8 p.m. For a preview, catch Evin at Durham's Broad Street Café on Thursday, Nov. 8. —Rick Cornell
