TIR NA NOG—Fashion, art and good tunes join hands at Raleigh's annual Rock & Shop Market, where the creative community comes together for a celebration of locally produced wares from the craft revolution. Raleigh's own Bowerbirds (who record on a label owned by Indy music editor Grayson Currin), the alt-folk Du Jour Presents and soulful spin-doctor DJ Marco provide the music. The event runs from 1-5 p.m. and tickets are $3. Be one of the first 50 to arrive and get a free bag of goodies and swag. —Kathy Justice

EXPLORIS—Who says you can't celebrate a new year in June? Join the Peruvian American Association of North Carolina in noting the second-largest festival in South America marking a new year. The event begins at noon, admission is $5. For more info, call 834-4040 or visit —Iesha Brown

CITY CENTER DISTRICT—Durham's streetscape project is complete—supposedly. Never mind, let's party. Celebrate Durham's "renaissance" of incoming tourist attractions, housing and infrastructure. The free and kid-friendly events will feature local bands and Russell Thompkins Jr. & the New Stylistics. Party time is 4 p.m. For information, visit —Sarah Lupton
