CRASH

N.C. MUSEUM OF ART--Crash was a modestly budgeted sleeper film that slowly accrued an audience after its initial unspectacular premiere over a year ago. This Saturday, we'll finally have a chance to enjoy Crash in a large communal setting: at the outdoor cinema. It starts at 9 p.m. and costs $3 for adults (kids are free). --David Fellerath

GRANOLA FUNK EXPRESS

THE POUR HOUSE--An Asheville-based crew of hip-hop heads who mix mild funk rhythms with major political edicts, GFE formed in 1994 at a Rainbow Family of Living Light Gathering in Florida. In these dozen years, they've released more than one-half dozen albums of their proselytizing poetry, begging for cooperation through a form they (rightly) feel has been corrupted by the capital gains of outsiders. The band returns to Raleigh for a $6 show at 10 p.m. Kyler England and Cole Guerra share the stage at 7 p.m., as the latest installment of Raleigh Downtown Live featuring the Spin Doctors thuds ahead outside. --Grayson Currin

WINE AND WHINE

ANIMALL PET ADOPTION CENTER--Partake in some first-rate puppy panache at this fundraiser for the nonprofit pet rescue organizations Paw-fect Match and Sound Pet. Kick-off the evening at 6 p.m. with a wine tasting and stick around for refreshments and door-prizes. Tickets are $15, and all proceeds go to charity. For more, see www.pawfectmatch.org. -- Kathy Justice
