Re: “NC Comicon and Oak City Comicon Consolidate Brands as New Competition From Florida Looms

I've been to the last 2 NC ComiCons in Durham. It's a great event, but the panels are kind of a weak spot for me. I would have considered checking out NC ComiCon Oak City but it's the same weekend as the Anime Magic film festival at the Carolina Theater in Durham. Maybe next year.

Re: “Resident: Durham City Council Ignoring Fatal Shooting of Frank Clark; Council to Cooper: Expedite Investigation

Thanks, Mr. Muhammad. It shouldn't take disruptive protests to get the city to take police brutality seriously. But if that's what Councilmember Davis wants, maybe we should shut down the freeway one more time.

Re: “Moogfest Announces Joint Pass with Art of Cool for 2017 Festivals

I'm so happy to see this collaboration, and this affordable way to attend both!

Re: “Good News, Bull City Stoners: The Durham City Council Moves Toward Marijuana Deprioritization

So glad to see the Council taking a look at this. Schewel is exactly right. Young white people smoke marijuana frequently without risking their futures. There's no reason people of color (or anyone) should be arrested for possessing or using small amounts of a drug which is less dangerous than alcohol.

Re: “Jillian Johnson Won’t Back Down over Cop-Related Facebook Post

This is such a non-issue! We elected Jillian because of her leadership on social justice issues like this. Now she is doing the job we elected her to do. Let's not continue this BS "controversy."

Re: “In Durham, Rich Neighborhoods Have Plenty of Trees. Poor Neighborhoods, Not So Much

Correction to my correction: Monmouth is in Old NORTH Durham. No more commenting before coffee.
