New Jersey's River City Extension recently opened for Gogol Bordello and Man Man. They must have seemed like the love child of both: Extension melds the thrashy acoustic orchestrations and manic mantras of the former with the latter's kitchen-sink instrumentation and wild, unhinged imagination. Though the eight-piece ensemble is able to ease off the gas occasionally—and is nearly as engaging when doing so—River City's live show is about as raucous as those of its speculative parents. Expect the Nightlight to heat up when the show starts at 9:30 p.m. —Spencer Griffith
