This 1970 thriller is not to be confused with the Doors' "Riders on the Storm," though it's said that the film inspired Jim Morrison. Purple Noon director René Clément helms this tale of a woman who kills her rapist, only to be dogged by an Army officer (Charles Bronson) tracking said rapist down. In the deadly cat-and-mouse game that ensues, Bronson gives one of his most acclaimed performances. (In the 1980s he attempted to have the film remade in America.) Rarely shown but highly acclaimed by those who have seen it, this screens along with some classic trailers at this new Cinema Overdrive installment.
