The 36-member North Carolina Youth Tap Ensemble (NCYTE) spotlights some of the world's best youth tap dancers, ages eight to 18, most of whom hail from the Tar Heel state. These kids are fresh from recent performances at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., and Symphony Space in New York City. Rhythm Evolved, their 30th anniversary show, will feature choreography by the legendary Savion Glover. Joining them is NCYTE alumnus Michelle Dorrance, an award-winning dancer/choreographer and former STOMP! Company member, as well as Matthew Shields, an acclaimed Austin dancer/choreographer. Prepare yourself for funk, jazz, contemporary choreography and traditional rhythm tap. —Emma Miller
