Re: Winningest coach
In the Nov. 23 article "Hang on to the good days of the ACC," Thad Williamson wrote, "Meanwhile, Mike Krzyzewski's ascension as major college basketball's all-time winningest coach ..." This information is incorrect. The winningest coach in major NCAA basketball is Pat Summit of the University of Tennessee women's basketball, with 913 wins.
Summit and her accomplishments at UT are remarkable. This is not to take away from Coach K, but Summit's accomplishment deserves recognition. Tennessee is a powerhouse of the SEC Division 1—a conference long known for its competitveness in both men's and women's sports.
