Randi Davenport

When: Thu., April 1, 7 p.m. 2010

Chapel Hill author Randi Davenport chronicles the difficult period in her life when her 15-year-old son Chase slipped into psychosis in her new book The Boy Who Loved Tornados: A Mother's Story. Davenport's tale has earned raves from such authors as Lee Smith and Alice Hoffman, who called it "a heartbreaking, disturbing, and truly courageous story of one mother's fight to save her son." Davenport will make a series of appearances throughout the Triangle to promote her book. —Zack Smith
