Ah, David Cronenberg...Canada's finest export that's not Degrassi. For decades, his films of really, really weird and creepy stuff happening to people have been a constant source of inspiration to horror buffs, and now Triangle fans have a chance to see one of his early works at Cinema Overdrive's latest screening. Porn star Marilyn Chambers (Behind the Green Door) stars as an injured woman who gets some experimental transplants that, this being a Cronenberg film, result in her growing new orifices and causing a massive vampire-zombie plague. The imagery of the violence suggests a sexual transmittal of the disease, in a way that anticipated the AIDS crisis a few years before the disease became known. It's also a precursor in many ways to such later, better-known Cronenberg works as Videodrome and The Fly. A $5.50 ticket gets you in to this depravity, which also features a host of classic trailers before and after the film. —Zack Smith
