Punk Rock Xmas with the P-90s, B Side Project, Mat Quiring & Adym Roy, Them Nance Boys

When: Sat., Dec. 15, 8 p.m. 2012
Price: Free

While the Bull City Punk Rock Christmas should be fun, its name isn't entirely accurate, as punk is far from the only influence you'll hear in the assembled acts. While some of their songs draw from melodic punk a la The Replacements, the P-90's more often add distortion to old-school rock 'n' roll. Durham's B Side Project sports pop-punk overtones, but classic rock influences such as Bruce Springsteen and The Who are often more prevalent. Mat Quiring (Of Whiskey and Blood, Allied Threat) and Adam Roy (Kennebec, Red Engine) have punk credentials, but their acoustic duets trend toward Johnny Cash. Them Nance Boys open the free show at 8 p.m. —Jordan Lawrence
