Formed in the wake of Nickel Creek's split, the soon-to-be Punch Brothers were initially just the unnamed side project support for Chris Thile on his 2006 release, How to Grow a Woman From the Ground. Four years, two name changes, a debut release and one collective relocation (to New York) later, the band has solidified as a challenging, somewhat enigmatic modern bluegrass collaborative. These five prodigious Brothers fuse their string-band skills to create raucous pop-Americana. Hear it on their latest record, 2010's Antifogmatic, but witness it live to believe it. The show starts at 8 p.m., and tickets are $18–$22. —Ashley Melzer
